Who am I?

Hello! My name is Elaine Sun. I am currently a 4th year studying Computer Science at University of California, San Diego. I am also a first-generation college student.

I moved from China to the Bay Area when I was ten. I’m naturally curious and patient as I grew up translating for my family and learned to figure things out one step at a time. I like simple, thoughtful design and the feeling of making something useful for real people. Outside of code, you’ll find me hunting for good matcha/coffee in new cafés, re-watching comfort shows, and reading (and sometimes just collecting) books. I’m the kind of person who brings steady energy to a team, writes things down so others can follow, and celebrates small wins. My goal is to keep learning across the stack and keep users at the center by building tools that make everyday life a little easier.
